Shafin Shabir

I am a PhD candidate in Economics and Econometrics at CERGE-EI, a joint workplace of Charles University and the Economics Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, where I am supervised by Jan Zapal.​ My research interests are in Political Economy and  Applied Economic Theory.

I received a CERGE-EI Performance Stipend in Summer 2022 and have received it continuously since Spring 2023. I completed my Master’s degree in Economics at CERGE-EI in November 2023. Prior to that, I obtained a Master’s degree in Economics of Public Policy from the Barcelona School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, with a minor in History, from Shiv Nadar University, India.
